Procedures of Teaching
Pre-Teaching
Before teaching, I always print my lesson plan and try to approach my cooperating teacher for checking and improving my lesson plan.
In entering my class, I always bring my materials needed for my teaching such as projector, extension, board pen, laptop and speaker.
During-Teaching
In starting the class, I always greet the students, give motivation or games before starting my lesson proper. I also group them into 3 and gave some activities related to my topic trigonometric functions, give individual activity to them and we answered it together in the class.
Closing
In closing the class, I always ask my students what are the lessons they learn from me and making my conclusions about the topic. I also give some homework for them to practice their skills and apply what they have learn in school.
Time Management and Organizing Activities
In order to meet and achieve my time, I prepared my lesson plan that i can deliver in the whole duration of the class. Since I have 90 minutes for my one class, I allotted 10 minutes for my pre-teaching, 60 minutes for the lesson proper, 10 minutes for break and in order for the students to relax a bit and the last 10 minutes is for generalization and conclusion.
Classroom Management
The main problem of the teachers in the classroom is how to manage the class. In my case, I established a classroom routine. I let my students arrange their seats before and after the class. I also show to them how to be respectful by treating them with respect and letting them know that I care for them. I also established fairness to avoid insecurities in the class.
Problem Solving
During my teaching period, the main problem that I encounter is that 90% of my students can't understand English language. That's the reason why I can't deliver my lesson well because of the language barrier. As the teacher, in order to overcome that problem, I ask one of my student that understand English language to translate what I am teaching for the students who can't understand English language can understand our lesson.
